Data Science Manager and Consultant

Mathematics Instructor

As Manager - Model Maintenance at Recast, I built and lead a team of data scientists responsible for the operation, quality, and evolution of production marketing mix models supporting $13M+ in annual recurring revenue across 65-70 active clients.

I designed this function from the ground up—defining hiring systems, operational processes, and cross-functional workflows that enable our team to deliver reliable analytics at scale. My work bridges technical execution with strategic systems-building: I partner with Engineering to resolve pipeline issues, coordinate with Research on model improvements, and work alongside customer-facing Data Scientists and Project Managers to ensure seamless delivery. I’m also directly involved in hiring and developing early-career data scientists, translating my academic teaching background into leadership that combines technical mentorship with professional growth.

Before Recast, I led the internal data science consultancy at InsideTracker, where I built tools and infrastructure that democratized access to insights for marketing, product, and scientific teams. I transitioned to industry from academia in 2021, bringing a professor’s instinct for clear communication and systematic thinking to data-driven, growth-oriented environments.

I’m passionate about trail and ultra running, bicycling, bread baking, and reading on topics such as public lands, conservation, and quirky fiction. These interests keep me grounded and fuel the creative problem-solving I bring to building teams and systems, bringing a unique perspective to my data science work.

If you’re looking for a data science leader who combines technical depth, people development, and systems thinking, send an email. I’m open to discussing collaborations, job opportunities, or consulting work.

I also teach mathematics part-time at Coconino Community College, and offer private tutoring in mathematics and statistics.
